Manufacturing Engineer

Hudsonville, MI
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Assembly team at our Hudsonville location! The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for continuous improvement activities, plant layouts, managing multiple projects and promoting a safe working environment. Successful candidates will have a hands-on approach, a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and at least 2 years of prior experience.

Day to Day Role:
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows and utilize continuous improvement methods to impact quality, cost reduction, and throughput
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products, and equipment that is consistent with zero defects and low production costs 
  • Utilize 8D problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Provide technical expertise to support and facilitate daily manufacturing operations of assembly equipment
  • Participate in equipment validation events to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency objectives align with manufacturing expectations and standards

 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering – mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or similar
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Motivated and energetic self-starter with a focus on 'hands-on' troubleshooting and analysis of assembly equipment and processes
  • Experience working with new designs, equipment fabrication, line lay-outs, and line balancing
  • Proven record of continuous improvement / Lean project implementations  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Fanuc robot, PLC, or vision system programming experience are a plus, but not required
