What You’ll Do
Your future starts here! A Quality Inspector (internally known as Secondary Inspection) at Royal is an essential member of our manufacturing team; ensuring quality parts are sent to our customers every time. In this role you’ll be responsible for visually and physically inspecting and measuring components based on customer- specified features and dimensions for the automotive, furniture and consumer goods industries. Based out of our Corporate Grove plant in Michigan, this position reports directly to the Quality Resource Supervisor and will work on
3rd shift (12am-8am) Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately perform visual and dimensional measurement studies of assigned parts based on the customer standards presented in the VRS (Visual Reference Sheets)
- Equipment and systems used include, but are not limited to: OGP, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, clip gauges and pin gauges.
- Support manufacturing molding bays (departments) with First shot / Last shot checks as well as break relief coverage for molding operators (ie. packing and inspecting parts as they come off the injection molding machines).
- Quickly and accurately inspect parts at the Standard Seconds Per Part target
- Pay: $18.90/hr
What You’ll Bring
- 1-3+ years of inspection experience
- Experience with vision systems (e.g. OGP, CMM, etc.) is highly desirable
- Proven work history working in inspection, gauging and blueprint reading
- General knowledge level of tolerance regimes and micro-scale metrology, general knowledge of products, tooling, & process
- High attention to detail, accuracy and accountability
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage workload independently
- Exceptional time management skills
- Willingness to work occasional Saturday overtime as needed to support business need.
- Note: All candidates must be able to pass an in-house color acuity test and inspection test.
