What You’ll Do

Join our team as a Quality Resource Supervisor on 2nd Shift and be a part of an organization that is passionate about getting the right product, out the door, on-time and with the highest quality.  Based out of our Hudsonville facility, this position reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Molding Secondary Inspection (quality) team; aligning team activity to accomplish the daily schedule of SI role responsibilities and customer orders.
  • Ensure inspection of quality products that meet customer standards.
  • Communicate with Customers, Suppliers, Royal Management and Support Staff regarding quality related issues and shortage risk throughout the shift.
  • Evaluate and communicate employee performance through the Royal evaluation process.
  • Maintain and support Royal QMS to provide the entire molding team with an organized workplace and proper tools to provide perfectly acceptable products to our customers.
  • Manage multiple aspects of Royal’s color control systems (master entry, calibration, Incoming inspection, color evaluations, material adjustments). 
  • Implement Continuous Improvement Projects with tangible results (PDCA/A3).
  • Participate in the launch process of new tools in the plant (Design Review, PFMEA, BB, PTR/PSO, SI).
  • Manage a large volume of paper and electronic administrative activity with urgency and accuracy to QMS standards and manufacturing expectations.
  • Approach all responsibilities with a high level of detail and standardization.
  • Identify and resolve issues that prevent Royal team members from achieving daily responsibilities.
  • Display excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask several projects under pressure.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience
  • Proven clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills an ability to multitask several projects in a high pressure environment. 
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift (4pm-12am) and have an excellent attendance record with the flexibility to work overtime (1-2 hours per day)
  • Working experience with Syteline or QAD is a plus.
  • Experience with implementing/maintaining 5S
  • Prior experience with implementing a Continuous Improvement Project with tangible results. 
  • Prior supervisory experience is highly preferred
  • Microsoft / Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Data Studio) proficiency.
  • Experience with OGP, CMM, or similar is a plus
  • Color acuteness - must pass color test in order to be eligible
  • Willing to travel to customer locations in response to quality issues, as needed
  • Willing and able to obtain appropriate internal/external training as needed to support role responsibilities.
