What You’ll Do

The Mold Repair Technician (Mold Maker) is responsible for maintaining and repairing molds used for our over 350 plastic injection machines. Based out of our Cullman facility, this position reports directly to the Tooling Supervisor and supports 2nd Shift (4pm-12am). The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mold repairs while determining root cause and prevention.
• Perform tooling preventative maintenance.
• Minor mold repairs in and out of presses.
• Repair of hot runner systems (heaters and valve gates).
• Ability to read and interpret CAD models.
• Ability to Micro TIG weld.
• Comply with all safety policies.
• Maintain a strong, positive relationship with manufacturing operators, maintaining a service attitude
• Safely operate overhead cranes to move and position molds and tooling components.
• Use vertical mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes to fabricate or repair tooling components as needed.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant mold making and repair experience
• In-depth knowledge of injection molding and mold design
• Ability to work overtime (determined daily based on workload/plant needs)
• Detail oriented
