Cullman, AL

The supervisor will learn to balance direct mechanical execution—such as mold changes and troubleshooting—with the administrative and developmental oversight of staff. The objective of this position is to drive high-standard product quality, enforce rigorous safety protocols, and cultivate an environment defined by a continuous improvement mindset and a teachable spirit.

Core Responsibilities (Once Fully Trained)

Advanced Technical Problem-Solving
  • Process Optimization: Troubleshoot complex foam molding and assembly equipment and processes to ensure optimal density and product quality.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify the "why" behind production failures or customer issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Technical Execution: Perform precise mold changes and setups in foam; maintain foam and assembly equipment and molds to ensure the team has the proper tools for success.
  • Safety Leadership: Act as the department authority on machine safety and strict Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) compliance.
Strategic Leadership & Team Growth
  • Personnel Management: Schedule staff and create assignments to hit aggressive daily goals. Regularly write and conduct performance evaluations that drive employee growth.
  • Servant Leadership: Foster a high-morale environment through a positive attitude and a commitment to helping your team succeed.
  • Growth Mindset: Maintain a teachable spirit, remaining open to new methods, feedback, and evolving technologies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify inefficiencies in the workflow and develop innovative ideas to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Aptitude & Experience
  • Foam Molding Mastery: Prior knowledge of—or a proven high-level ability to master—foam molding tool changes and machine parameters/adjustments is highly preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure and solve mechanical or operational problems independently.
  • System Proficiency: Knowledge of Royal systems (Supervisor Dashboard, Syteline, etc.) and computer proficiency (Google Suite, Excel) is highly preferred
Leadership & Professionalism
  • Experience: Past direct supervisory experience is highly preferred (at Royal or outside of Royal)
  • Communication: Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required for documentation and team coaching.
  • Reliability: An excellent attendance record and the ability to provide frequent Saturday support are mandatory.
Internal Eligibility

  • Performance: No written warnings within the last six months and no "unacceptable" scores on your most recent evaluation.
  • Endorsement: Must be recommended by your current Supervisor.
