The
Foam Process Technician will work as part of a cross functional production team to develop robust foam molding processes, sample and work with tooling engineers on new product launches, as well as problem solve and troubleshoot existing processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Development of robust foam molding processes including recipe development and pour pattern adjustments
- Sample new products during launch process.
- Work with tooling engineers on optimal tool design.
- Work within a cross-functional production team including Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians and Foam Operators.
- Troubleshoot process issues, scrap/cost reductions, and improvement projects.
- Insure preventative maintenance is planned and executed.
- Perform some “Light” maintenance repairs. (replace air gage, or air hose)
- Insure all tools are appropriate and available for production team.
- Responsible for machine safety and for following all prescribed lock out procedures
- Bulk Material unloading
- Maximize the daily efficiency of the foam cells through process changes that increase uptime and minimize scrap. Those changes include recipe adjustments and pour program changes.
- Communicate process changes through the Foam Process Change Form.
- Insure daily production tools and equipment is optimized. (Wax guns, air guns, heads)
- Maintain Daily 5S.
- Responsible for machine safety and for following all prescribed lock out procedures
- Daily rotations for mold cleaning
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Science or Vocational Education or equivalent experience
- Polyurethane Foam experience a plus
- Successful candidate is highly hands on and utilizes a logical problem solving methodology
- Experience using DOE’s and other statistical tools for problem solving
- Experience with Google Sheets, Docs and Slides
Internal Eligibility
- Tenure: At least six months in your current role (unless business needs dictate otherwise).
- Performance: No written warnings within the last six months and no "unacceptable" scores on your most recent evaluation.
- Attendance: Must have a strong excellent attendance track record
- Endorsement: Must be recommended by your current Supervisor.
