Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
What You’ll Do
A Maintenance Tech at Royal is an essential role to keep our manufacturing equipment performing at its best. We are looking for someone who has electrical, mechanical and hydraulic, controls (PLCs), and or robotics experience. If you love getting your hands dirty, troubleshooting and problem solving equipment issues in production- this is the job for you!. Based out of our Hudsonville-Quincy facility, this position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & repair of industrial machinery such as hydraulic & electric injection molding machines, gantry & articulating robots, auxiliary/support equipment, along with custom designed assembly equipment.
- Understand complex electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical systems such as:
- Servo electric drives/motors
- Digital & analog control systems
- Closed loop proportional controls
- Hydraulic pumps, directional control, & logic (cartridge) valves
- Ball screws, & precision mechanical control
- Understand and application of metrology for precision setup & maintenance
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as infrared thermography & ultrasonic measurement
- Application of education, theory, & mathematics to equipment maintenance

- Ability to read electrical, fluid power, & mechanical prints/schematics

- Communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization including operators, supervisors and plant leaders

- Ability to troubleshoot and provide explanation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to use fingers, hands and arms to complete a task (dexterity)
- Hand-eye coordination
- All employees must wear approved safety glasses
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or 3-5 years of solid manufacturing experience
- 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing maintenance field
- Experience working with injection molding, custom automation and PLC programming skills are highly preferred
- Must have a basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting
- Willing and able to work overtime
