Quality Resource Supervisor - 1st shift

Corporate Grove is looking for a dependable Quality Resource Supervisor on 1st shift who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a firm commitment to quality systems and taking complete ownership of our advanced precision equipment (OGP/Dino-Lite) - including its calibration, routine troubleshooting, training and developing others, and operational success.  Ideal candidates are self-starters who are highly motivated to learn independently, proactively seek out external resources, and identify and sign up for any advanced training needed to master these systems (courses related to your role would be eligible for reimbursement from Royal).
Day-to-day tasks include:
  • Supervising a secondary inspection team of 6 employees
  • Demonstrating sound judgement in determining whether products are within customer specifications and acceptable to ship
  • Providing proactive and thorough communication 
  • Managing a changing workload to ensure high quality parts are delivered to our customers on time
Responsibilities:
  • Operate, calibrate, train others, and troubleshoot OGP and Dino-Lite for CG
  • Approach all responsibilities with a high level of detail and standardization
  • Attend to Standard Part Comparison No-Go’s immediately as they are submitted
  • Display excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask several projects under pressure
  • Supervise Molding SI team.  Align team activity to accomplish the daily schedule to meet SI role responsibilities and customer orders
  • Ensure inspection of quality products that meet customer standards
  • Maintain and support Royal QMS to provide the entire molding team with an organized workplace and proper tools to provide perfectly acceptable products to our customers
  • Manage multiple aspects of Royal’s color control systems (master entry, calibration, Incoming inspection, color evaluations, material adjustments)
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, Royal management and support staff regarding quality related issues and shortage risk throughout the shift
  • Evaluate and communicate employee performance through the Royal evaluation process
  • Implement Continuous Improvement Projects with tangible results (PDCA/A3)
  • Participate in the launch process of new tools in the plant (PFMEA, BB, PTR/PSO, SI)
  • Manage a large volume of paper and electronic administrative activity with urgency and accuracy to QMS standards and manufacturing expectations

Applicants must have at least one of the following to be considered for this role:
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (Plastics/Molding experience preferred)
  • Hands-on experience and solid proficiency with OGP, CMM, or similar automated high-precision measuring systems
Requirements: 
  • Strong working understanding of QMS structures, automotive launch procedures (PFMEA, PPAP/PTR), and 5S implementation
  • Prior experience with implementing a Continuous Improvement Project with tangible results
  • Demonstrated visual color acuity (experience with spectrophotometers or color matching systems is a major plus)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to uphold quality standards when opposed in a respectful and professional manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Looker Studio), Working experience with Syteline ERP is a strong plus
  • Clear, concise, and decisive written and verbal communication skills under high-pressure timelines
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask several projects in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent attendance record.  Willingness to work daily overtime and Saturdays
  • Willing to travel to customer locations in response to quality issues, as needed
  • Willing and able to obtain appropriate internal/external training as needed to support role responsibilities
  • Strong recommendation from current supervisor/manager submitted alongside resume
  • No written warnings within the last 6 months, including unacceptable scores on most recent evaluation
