Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Assembly team!  The ME will be responsible for continuous improvement activities, plant layouts, managing multiple projects and promoting a safe working environment.  Successful candidates will have a hands-on approach, a strong lean background, and at least 3 years prior experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze manufacturing equipment / process flow and utilize continuous improvement methods to meet safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for new products, product changes, enhancements to related fixtures / tools that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost
  • Utilize 8D problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Validate equipment function, repeatability, reliability, and process controls prior to production approval
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, using Lean Manufacturing techniques, ranging from material presentation improvement to launching automation initiatives
  • Develop and maintain Standardized  Work Methods and additional process documentation
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering – mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or similar
  • Three+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, automotive experience preferred
  • Proven experience in lean project implementation
  • Experience working with new designs, equipment fabrication, line layouts, and line balancing
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Proven experience with Lean activities including Kaizen, time-studies, PDCA, A3, and 5S methodologies
