Injection Molding Supervisor - 2nd or 3rd Shift

What You’ll Do

Royal Technologies is a company that is passionate about their people and processes, which is brought to life through our Injection Molding Supervisor role! This position is perfect for someone who desires to be a hands-on, technical leader. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude who desire to be in a leadership role that works on the floor alongside their team. Approximately the first 9-12 months of this role will consist of training in the various roles and departments within the facility before you will independently take on the role of leading your team. Based out of our Quincy or Corporate Grove facility in Hudsonville, this position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot injection molding processes and equipment. Problem-solve in order to develop corrective actions for customer issues and ideas for improvement
  • Work with the team Utility/Set-Up Technician to perform mold and color changes
  • Prioritize production orders and oversee the production of quality products to ensure our customer standards and needs are met
  • Approve First Shot/Last Shot quality checks as well as bay quality decisions
  • Respond to machine, fixture, robot, loader, and grinder alarms
  • Start up and shut down press machines in the area
  • Assist with team member needed break coverage
  • Maintain the work area, equipment and molds to provide the team with an organized workplace and proper tools
  • Responsible for machine safety and for following all prescribed lock out procedures 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Lead your team (3-6 people) in the execution of daily production tasks and in continuous improvement
  • Schedule staff machine assignments and break coverage in order to hit daily goals
  • Write and conduct employee performance evaluations
  • Approve timecards in Kronos

Physical Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs independently and up to 55lbs with assistance.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking and performing repetitive tasks
  • Bending and stooping 
  • Ability to use fingers, hands and arms to complete a task (dexterity)
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • All employees must wear approved safety glasses
Starting Wage: $21.65+/hr + quarterly bonuses 

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications:

  • Proven hands-on technical experience (ie utility, maintenance, process tech, etc.)
    • Experience with injection molding equipment is a plus
  • High school diploma/GED or 3-5 years of solid manufacturing experience 
  • Experience managing a department/team
  • Willing and able to work 45-50 hours per week
    • Although this is a 2nd shift (4pm-12am) or 3rd shift (12am-8am) position, there will be training required on 1st shift (8am-4pm)
